Belmont College is hiring for a full-time Information Technology Specialist. The IT Specialist will be responsible for the implementation and support of the BEConnected initiative under the supervision of the Director of Information Systems. They will also provide coverage for the Support Desk as well as the Network Technician. The IT Specialist will perform routine changes and updates to the College website. This is a “hands-on” position requiring solid technical skills, as well as excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
The IT Specialist plays a major role in making sure that the BEConnected initiative provides users with flexibility in the management, and access to systems and data.
1.) Assist with the BEConnected initiative.
2.) Write and update directions for processes and procedures.
3.) Answer phone support line and record issues such as resetting passwords, hardware and software issues, and issues with BEConnected.
4.) Monitor support emails.
5.) Provide sign-in and navigation assistance for MyBelmont and email.
6.) Provide coverage for the Desktop Support Technician and Network Technician.
7.) Perform updates and changes to the College website.
8.) Other duties as assigned.
1.) Ability to demonstrate proficiency of Apple iOS, mac OS and Windows operating systems.
2.) Minimum of 3 years of experience in computer operations, WordPress, HTML, and PHP web programming.
3.) Minimum of an Associate’s degree in computer science or related field; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
