Transfer and Articulation Advisor

 

Belmont College is hiring a full-time Transfer and Articulation Advisor.  The Transfer and Articulation Advisor is a professional staff employee reporting directly to the Coordinator, Admissions & Advising.  All Academic Advisors provide current and prospective students with information about career pathways, pathway progress, and student support services at Belmont College.  The focus of the Transfer and Articulation Advisor is with students entering the college with the intent to transfer to a four-year institution for a Bachelor’s Degree.  The Transfer and Articulation Advisor also collaborates with the high school recruiter to facilitate high school-to-college transfers and acts as a college liaison for the College Credit Plus Program.  The Transfer and Articulation Advisor  implements and manages the  follow-up with potential students and works  closely with the Student Services employees  to insure that  seamless services are provided to all students.

 

Specific Responsibilities

1.)   Maintain an active student caseload as assigned and provide academic, admissions, and transfer advising to potential, current, and returning students.

2.)   Track student progress and student needs for additional services to improve retention rates.

3.)   Assist students listed as an AAG, ASG or undecided majors with selecting a destination school and creating a clear pathway for transfer or employment.

4.)   Work with Program Chairs and their representatives in assisting with transcript evaluations, degree audits, advising questions and scheduling course section offerings as needed.

5.)   Provide student referrals to community resources as needed.

6.)   Provide general financial aid counseling and assist financial aid staff with degree audits to determine financial aid eligibility.

7.)   Systematically evaluate the effectiveness of the transfer and articulation advising services, and use results to improve services and processes.

8.)   Participate in the Academic Alert process.

9.)   Actively participate in departmental continuous quality improvement activities and use the results to improve systems and processes to move students through to completion.

10.) Facilitate the development and ongoing updating of transfer and articulation agreements.

11.) Other duties as assigned including but not limited to bulletin board maintenance, governance participation and college sponsored activities, ability to work at the off campus locations, nights and weekends as needed.

 

Position Requirements

1.) Bachelor’s Degree in related field; Master’s Degree preferred.

2.) Three to Five years of experience in Higher Education.

3.) Ability to demonstrate proficiency with technology such as software, hardware, tablets, etc.

4.) Ability to demonstrate a proficiency in excellent communication skills.
