Belmont College

The First-Year Experience

First-year experience – What is it?  How does it work?  Who is it for?

The First-Year Experience at Belmont College is a committed partnership between the College and new Belmont students.  This program will provide a smooth transition into college for new students by involving students in events, programs, and activities that will provide the necessary tools for a successful transition into a higher education.

FYE begins with the very first call to Belmont.  Admissions will assist students with career exploration and enrollment procedures.  FYE continues with New Student Orientation, which is designed to assist new students with the processes and expectations of becoming a successful college student.  The program continues throughout the first year with leadership seminars, activities, and events that are designed to increase grades, increase overall satisfaction with Belmont, and develop life-long success skills. Students can have fun along the way with our Student Life field trips to such places as PNC Park, Columbus, and more!

Students have an opportunity to received paid leadership positions at Belmont College through the Student Ambassador program, which is designed for eligible students to become active in helping create programs and events for new students.
