Transfer Students

Transfer to Belmont...

Belmont College will accept credit earned at other institutions which are accredited by regional accreditation agencies such as the North Central Association of College and Schools.  The courses must be comparable in regard to earned credit and quality points to those taught at Belmont College.
Furthermore, in awarding credit to students transferring to Belmont College from other institutions, the College is guided by the policies promoted by the Ohio Articulation and Transfer Advisory Committee.  In awarding credit to transfer students, Belmont College uses standards identical to those for native students.  In this manner we ensure equality for native and transfer students.
Belmont College will accept transfer credit from other institutions in the categories of Credit by Examination, Advanced Placement, U.S. Military, or other nontraditional training credit.
Official college transcripts must be submitted to the Records Office.  Credits will be assessed and approved at the discretion of the Program Chair of the academic department related to the student‘s degree.

Transfer Student Enrollment Checklist

Start at Belmont and Continue to a Bachelor's Program...

Many students do the first two years of their bachelor's degree here then transfer to a four-year-school to finish.

A typical choice is to get an Associate of Arts or an Associate of Science degree. these are all-purpose degrees designed specifically to transfer and represent the general education requirements of most bachelor's degrees.

Additionally, many of our career and technical degrees also transfer.

Transfer Agreements

Transfer and articulation agreements establish direct higher education pathways that lead students to complete an associate degree and then create opportunities to obtain a bachelor’s degree.  These arranged agreements allow each student to: develop a completion plan from their first advising appointment, track successes and benchmarks throughout their education at Belmont College, and provide a framework for completion of a bachelor’s degree.

The Belmont Advantage:

  • The Belmont Degree Completion Plan creates a tracking form to complete an associate degree that creates a pathway to a bachelor’s degree.
  • The curriculum prepares students for junior and senior level coursework at a university.
  • The transfer agreement establishes a pathway to complete a bachelor’s degree without coursework duplication.
