Welcome to #BeCommunity!

Community Education offers flexible and convenient non-credit courses designed to upgrade skills for personal development… or just for fun! All classes are currently virtual and offered through Zoom Video Conferencing.

Spring 2021 Schedule

 

April 

Cricut Tutorial  – Design and Make your own Pillow Cover – Saturday, April 10 at 10:00am

Create your own stencil design and create your own pillow cover during this fun Cricut tutorial! Beginners welcome!  Class is $35.00 and the deadline to register is April 1st. 

 

Flower Container Gardening – Tuesday, April 27 at 6:30pm. Eager to get things planted ? Maybe the soil you have is less than ideal or you just don’t have room for a garden or flower beds. Container gardening is an easy and popular way to go !

 

Join horticulturalist and Master Gardener, Shelley Rockwell, as she virtually demonstrates some fun ways to incorporate containers into your garden, porch or patio. Shelley has been growing and planting since she was but a sprout.  She has an associates degree in plant science and landscape technology, is a former certified arborist and is President of the Belmont County Master Gardeners.

 

Book Club – We will be discussing To Kill a Mockingbird by Harper Lee.

Bee Keeping Open Hive DemonstrationThursday, April 29 at 6:30pm If you’re thinking about starting a backyard beehive or are just curious about what’s involved with keeping bees, then this is a great introductory class for you. The class is designed for beginners so and no prerequisite knowledge is required. Taught by Shayne Loy a member of the Tri-State Beekeepers Association. Course fee is $15.00.

Garden Gnome Craft Class – Class project details TBA – Thursday, May 6 at 6:30pm

 

Smoking Ribs – Tuesday, May 18 at 6:30pm. Learn how to smoke the perfect rack of ribs for your Memorial Day picnic! Dean Barath, of Ideal Provisions Food Truck from Bridgeport, OH, will be virtually teaching the best tips and tricks to smoke ribs! Course fee is $15.00. Taught virtually through Zoom. Just call to register and we will send you the class link!

 

Book Club – We will be discussing An American Marriage by Tayari Jones.
Wednesday, May 26 at 6:30pm
No cost. Taught virtually through Zoom. Just call to register and we will send you the class link!

 

 

We add new classes every semester, so check back regularly!

Registration Procedures

To register fill out a Workforce Development and Community Education application or call 740.699.3868. You can also visit us in the Workforce Development & Community Education Department in Room #1110 at our Main Campus location.

 

Payment can be made by cash, check, or credit card. Class sizes are limited, so enroll early. We reserve the right to cancel a class if the minimum enrollment is not met. Failure to attend class does not guarantee withdrawal or eligibility for a refund. Responsibility for withdrawing remains with the student.
