Belmont College to Host 18th Annual International Preservation Trades Workshop

                            a crowd favorite and will be at this year’s event to demonstrate the “Magic of Scagliola.”
                            In session one, they will demonstrate the art of traditional scagliola by applying
                            it to a column shaft as it has been done for over 300 years. In the second session,
                            they make marezzo scagliola, a technique developed in the 19th century.The 18th Annual International Preservation Trades Workshop (IPTW) will take place this year at Belmont College, home of the award-winning Building Preservation/Restoration (BPR) program.

Historic Capitol Theater Restoration Project

Not pictured is Jacob Fetzer. For over 84 years the Capitol Theater, previously known as the Capitol Music Hall, has been a significant historic landmark in the city of Wheeling. For many years the Capitol served as the home to Jamboree USA as well as to the Wheeling Symphony Orchestra, and various musical, dance, and theater groups. The Theater is listed on the National Register of Historic Places and is the state of West Virginia’s largest theater.
