Homework Assistance & Tutoring
Drop-In homework assistance & tutoring
Drop-In homework assistance & tutoring is available, at no cost, for students. We have professional and peer tutors available throughout the week waiting to assist our students. Students will be served on a first-come, first-served basis. See below for the Spring Semester schedule. Remember, there is no appointment needed.
If you require tutoring for a particular course, please visit the Student Success Center and complete a Request for Assistance form. After receiving the completed form, the Testing Specialist will try to find a tutor for you as soon as possible. Once an appropriate tutor has been selected, they will contact you by means of your Belmont College email.
As part of the Ohio eTutoring Consortium, Belmont College is able to provide free online tutoring to all of our students, 24/7! eTutoring is an online tutoring platform which allows tutors to work with students synchronously and asynchronously, answering questions in real time, or replying to questions and essay submissions that students have left for review and commentary. Currently, eTutoring is used across North America in over 130 two and four-year, public and private colleges and universities.
Please go to www.etutoring.org and follow the log-in instructions to access this free service.
Supplemental Instruction (SI)
Supplemental Instruction (SI) is a student support program that is offered in many key courses recognized for their difficult content. At the heart of supplemental instruction is the Supplemental Instruction Leader, a student who has previously demonstrated outstanding performance in the designated supplemental instruction course. The SI Leader attends each session of a supplemental instruction course, takes notes, records important information and directions, notes test dates, and assists students in the classroom and labs. The SI Leader will also conduct SI sessions outside of class time. These sessions are peer-facilitated study sessions, which will help students review course content and prepare for upcoming course work and exams. These sessions are open to all sections of a SI course. All SI sessions are held in the Student Success Center, unless otherwise noted. Check below for the Spring 2017 Semester schedule.
