Loans

In an effort to reduce student borrowing and have more of our students graduate with zero loan debt we are going to require a Federal Direct Stafford Loan Request Form for all Federal Stafford Loans.  If you wish to apply for a Stafford loan you will need to complete the FAFSA and the Federal Direct Stafford Loan Request Form.  To make the process easier we have made the request form a fillable PDF file so you can complete it and email it directly to the financial aid office for us to process your request.  Please contact financial aid with any questions regarding the new process.

Federal Stafford Subsidized Loan

Enables students who qualify to borrow directly from the Department of Education.  Students may apply for a student loan if they are enrolled or have been accepted for enrollment at least halftime (six credit hours).  Students who qualify will have the interest on the loan paid by the Federal government while enrolled in school, and during the six-month grace period after their last date of enrollment or during an eligible deferment.  Repayment begins six months after the student graduates or withdraws from college; students may be allowed up to ten years to repay.  On-line Loan Entrance Counseling is required for all students applying for Stafford Loans.  Once online counseling is complete students may click the next step to complete the online MPN.

Federal Stafford Unsubsidized Loan

Enables all students to borrow a Federal Government Loan without regard to income.  Independent students who do not qualify for the maximum subsidized loan limits may borrow the difference, plus an additional amount of up to $4,000 under this program.  Students are responsible for the interest while enrolled in school, during the six-month grace period after their last date of enrollment, or during an eligible deferment.  Repayment begins six months after the student graduates or withdraws from college; students may be allowed up to ten years to repay.  On-line Loan Entrance Counseling is required for all students applying for Stafford Loans.  Once online counseling is complete students may click the next step to complete the online MPN.
