Frequently Asked Questions - Annual Campaign
“Every gift is an act of philanthropy and will allow Belmont College
to continue providing a top-notch education to our students.”
Q: What is the Annual Campaign and why should I give?
A: The Annual Campaign is the cornerstone of philanthropic support
at Belmont College: An Annual Campaign gift supports our students and programs and
is the most direct way to make a positive impact on the educational experience.
Annual Campaign gifts touch many lives, providing resources for students that might
not otherwise be available without the generosity of people like you. Your Annual
Campaign gift directly impacts a student’s opportunity to succeed. Every gift
is important to the educational experience of Belmont students and significantly
enhances their ability to achieve their goals and become successful.
Q: Is my gift tax-deductible?
A: Yes! Contributions benefit Belmont College and are administered
by the Belmont Technical College Foundation, Inc. The Belmont College Foundation
is classified as a 501(c) 3 charitable organization and thus your contribution is
deductible to the fullest extent allowed by law.
Q: Can I make a gift in honor of someone?
A: Yes! Some parents choose to honor their son or daughter or their
child’s favorite faculty or stall member; quite a few alumni make gifts in
honor of a classmate, spouse, or fondly remembered faculty member. You may also
make your gift in memory of someone. We will notify the honored individual or the
family that your gift – without reference to the amount – was made.
Q: What are matching gifts and will my employer match my gift?
A: Many companies match the charitable contributions of their employees.
In this way, the impact of your gift to Belmont College may be doubled or even tripled.
To have your gift matched, request a matching gift form from your human resources
department, complete what’s necessary, and send it along to us with your gift.
We’ll take it from there.
Q: I can afford a small gift. Will that really help?
A: Absolutely. A gift of any size directly supports our students and
programs and your gift says that you believe in Belmont College. Some foundations
and other grant-making organizations look at giving participation rates when awarding
grant requests. Your gift, viewed as a vote of confidence, could help us secure
many more dollars in external funding.
Q: I’d like to give $100, but right now I can manage only $25 a month.
Can I give a gift over time?
A: Of course! Giving incrementally is easy. Just let us know how much
you want to pledge, how much you are giving now, and what you would like to give
in the future.
Q: Can I leave to Belmont College in my will?
A: Yes! Will commitments are a great way to support organizations you
care about! If you would like more information about naming Belmont College in your
will or if you have already made provisions for the College, contact Erin R. Neely,
Coordinator of Development, at the contact information listed below.
Q: What if I have more questions?
