Belmont Technical College Foundation Board to Host Golf Scramble

First Annual Thomas R. Dowler Memorial Classic to be held.

St. Clairsville, OH (December 15, 2011) - The Belmont Technical College Foundation Board will be hosting the First Annual Thomas R. Dowler Memorial Classic Golf Scramble on Monday, May 21, 2012.  A shotgun start will be held at Noon at the Belmont Hills Country Club in St. Clairsville.

The purpose of the event is to raise funds for the Belmont Technical College Thomas R. Dowler Fund which will benefit Belmont students. The Thomas R. Dowler Fund was established with the permission of Mrs. Linda Dowler for the purpose of furthering the mission of Belmont Technical College.  The Fund may be used to support the students, faculty, programs, and facilities of Belmont, wherever the need exists.

“Mr. Dowler played an integral part in building the Belmont Technical College Foundation, and his love of the College was evident to all those who knew him,” said R.J. Konkoleski, Director of Development & External Affairs. “We are excited to have this golf scramble, our premier community event, in Mr. Dowler’s memory as the College’s way of continuing his legacy.”

The mission of the Belmont Technical College Foundation is to raise funds for the enhancement of the College's programs, image and effectiveness as an institution along with providing assistance to students in meeting the ever-growing cost of a college education. The formation of the Foundation was approved by the Belmont Board of Trustees in 1999 and the state of Ohio officially recognized the incorporation of the Foundation in 2001.  Prior to that, the Foundation was the Belmont Technical College Charitable Trust which was formed in 1974.
