Belmont College Assists with Financial Aid
Belmont holds Financial Aid Awareness Week to assist students with scholarships
and federal grant applications.
St. Clairsville, OH (March 1, 2012) - Belmont College held Financial Aid Awareness
Week February 27 through March 2 at the Main Campus in St. Clairsville.
The purpose of Financial Aid Awareness Week is to encourage Belmont students to
complete their 2012/2013 Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). The FAFSA
is the federal application required in order to receive federal financial aid, including
student loans as well as the need-based state grants. Additionally the event
is held in order to help students gain important information about scholarships
that are available at Belmont.
“The College will soon begin awarding scholarships for the 2012-2013 award
year and we want to encourage all of our students to apply for these awards,”
said Jody Peeler, Associate Dean of Student Financial Aid. “Belmont has many
charitable donors that have provided generous scholarship awards that our students
can benefit from.”
Additionally, Belmont recently held “College Goal Sunday” which is a
state-wide college financial aid program. The free event presented by the Ohio Association
of Student Financial Aid Administrators (OASFAA) and endorsed by the Ohio Board
of Regents, assisted students and parents with completing the FAFSA. The event was
a great success with over 70 students and their families attending.
