Cultural Pearls Event "Road of Nations"

St. Clairsville, OH (May 2, 2012) – Belmont College celebrated their 6th annual Cultural Pearls event on April 20 at the Main Campus in St. Clairsville. 

International exhibits representing various nationalities were on display including those from: China; Costa Rica; Czech Republic; Ethiopia; Guatemala; India; Iran; Japan; Korea; Rwanda; Serbia; Slovakia; and the Ukraine.

Several presenters provided main stage entertainment showcasing the history of the Ohio Valley, as well as a Greek dance presentation by the Junior Agape Dancers. Students from the Olney Friends School preformed musical and dance pieces from their home country featuring a pianist and vocalist from China, and a dancer from India. A crowd favorite was The Crazy Beast Orchestra featuring students from Union Local Elementary School; the students danced and sang improvising from a multicultural perspective. Lastly, historic re-enactor Chuck Bell portrayed historical frontiersman Simon Kenton who traveled up and down the Ohio River Valley.

Cultural Pearls promotes the appreciation and recognition of cultural diversity through entertainment, education and artistic expression.
