Law Day Event Held at Belmont College
St. Clairsville, OH (May 9, 2012) - Belmont College recently celebrated Law Day
at the Main Campus in St.Clairsville.
The purpose of Belmont’s Law Day event was to celebrate and learn about careers
in law and criminal justice. Individuals wanting to learn more about criminal justice,
cyber security/computer forensics, and legal office specialist programs were encouraged
to attend this event.
The keynote speaker for the event was The Honorable Harry W. White, Judge, Belmont
County Court. He has served as Judge of the Belmont County Court-Western Division
since 1979. Judge White spoke about justice, and related the importance of honestly
and intregeity to everyone’s life.
Additional presentations were made by a variety of individuals who are working in
the fields of law and criminal justice. Presenters were: Michelle Miller, Warden,
Belmont Correctional Institute; Melissa Evick, Client Services Manager, Jarvis Law
Office; and Ginger Haring a double major in Network Administration and Cyber Security/
Computer Forensics at Belmont College who works with the Sexual Predator Task Force
in Bethesda, Ohio who noted how her education at Belmont provided access to her
current part-time position through the capstone/internship opportunity.
A computer hacking prevention display and a transcriber were available for viewing
and participants had the opportunity to talk with all speakers.
