Belmont College Medical Assistants Celebrate Medical Assistants Recognition Week
St. Clairsville, OH (October 12, 2012) – Medical assistants all across the county are being celebrated this week including students in the medical assisting program at Belmont College.
Medical Assistants Recognition Week is October 15-19 and is as designated by the American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA). The AAMA is the premier organization serving the professional interests and educational needs of medical assistants. The association provides numerous services that help medical assistants put their careers on a successful and rewarding track and then keep them there.
In celebration of Medical Assistants Recognition Week students in the Medical Assisting Program at Belmont College have planned several on-campus activities. At various times throughout the week second-year students will be taking free blood pressure screenings for students, faculty, and staff. Additionally information about Medical Assisting and photographs of students will be on display and a recognition luncheon will be held by the second-year medical assisting students for the first-year medical assisting students.
According to the AAMA, medical assisting is an allied health profession whose practitioners function as members of the health care delivery team and perform administrative and clinical procedures. With their unique versatility, medical assistants are proving to be the allied health professional of choice for this decade and beyond. In fact, according to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, medical assisting continues to be projected as one of the fastest growing occupations
At Belmont College the Medical Assisting Program provides students with crucial skills to help them advance their careers in the field of health care.
