Power Plant Technology Program Information
Session Offered at Belmont College
St. Clairsville, OH (March 26, 2012) – Belmont College will be holding
a Power Plant Technology informational session on Wednesday, April 10 from 6:00
– 9:00 p.m. at the Main Campus in St. Clairsville. The session will be held
in the Red Room # 191.
The Power Plant Technology program offered at Belmont College is a collaborative
effort between Belmont and Youngstown State University (YSU). This program prepares
graduates for basic operations in electric utility power plants and other related
Representatives from area power plants, as well as from YSU and Belmont will be
available to speak and answer questions. This session is open to any individual
who is interested in the Power Plant program.
The Power Plant Technology program at Belmont is overseen by YSU with classroom
and lab space provided by Belmont and American Electrical Power's (AEP) Kammer-Mitchell
Plant. This hands-on program provides students with technical skills in: electrical
theory; electrical machinery and controls; power plant operations, boiler, turbine,
and generator operations, and more. Upon graduation from the program, students will
have been trained for entry-level employment in the utility industry as power plant
