St. Clairsville, OH (July 12, 2012) – Recent economic impact studies conducted by Kleinhenz & Associates, show there is potential for many new energy realted jobs to be created in the local area within the next few years. Qualified oil and gas workers are essential to support the increased demand in the energy field. To prepare citizens for these positions, Belmont College is partnering with local industries and workforce development agencies to offer specalized training.

“In an effort to respond to the energy needs in the local area, Belmont College is now offering short-term energy related certificates and training,” said Dr. Holly Bennett, Dean of Workforce and Economic Development.  “These training opportunities and short-term certificates are avaliable to individuals who may already have a degree but are looking to re-tool and re-train for job opportunities in the oil and gas industry; therefore allowing them to remain competitive in the workforce.”

Belmont College offers an economical approach for an existing worker or college graduate to prepare for a career in energy production. Education and training can consist of job certifications, skills refresher, and industry specific certificates of completion. These short-term energy specific certificates are achieved through  academic courses with specialized training for individuals who may already have degrees.
