Belmont College Awards AEP Scholarship

St. Clairsville, OH (September 6, 2013) - Belmont College is pleased
to announce that second-year student John Toth has received the AEP Scholarship.
Toth, a resident of Wheeling, WV, is majoring in Belmont College’s Industrial Electronics
program and hopes to pursue a career in the energy industry after graduation. In
his first year at Belmont College he received $1,000 from the AEP scholarship and
now in his second year he will receive $2,000.
To date, Belmont College has awarded more than $17,000 in scholarship monies to
eligible first- and second-year students in the Industrial Electronics and Power
Plant training programs through a workforce development program sponsored by AEP
Ohio, a unit of American Electric Power.
R.J. Konkoleski, Director of Development and External Affairs Scholarships at Belmont
College said, “Scholarship such as this one funded by AEP, help keep out of pocket
tuition expenses manageable for our students and offer great opportunities to those
who receive them, allowing students to achieve their educational and career goals
at a reduced cost.”
To qualify for the AEP scholarship award applicants must:
- Have a cumulative high school grade point average of at least 2.75
- Enroll in either the Industrial Electronics or Power Plant Technology programs
- Be an AEP Ohio customer or son or daughter of such customer with a primary residence
served by AEP Ohio at the time of scholarship application and award.
