St. Clairsville, OH (September 20, 2013) – Belmont College is pleased to announce that Kimberly Frakowski of St. Clairsville, Ohio has been named this year’s recipient of the American Association of University Women (AAUW) Beulah Boyd Scholarship.

Kimberly, a Library Paraprofessional major, was recognized on July 2 at a luncheon sponsored by the Community Foundation for the Ohio Valley Inc.

The AAUW Beulah Boyd Scholarship was created at the bequest of Ms. Beulah Boyd, who was a teacher at the former Wheeling High School and a member of the Wheeling Branch of AAUW. Ms. Boyd left a portion of her estate to AAUW, and designed the scholarship guidelines that have been followed since 1979.

AAUW is a nationwide network of more than 100,000 members and donors, 1,000 branches, and 500 college/university institution partners. The Wheeling Branch is one of many chapters across the country.

To apply for the scholarship, a student must have completed 30 college hours, be a full-time student, have a GPA of minimum 2.2, and reside in Brooke, Ohio, or Marshall Counties in West Virginia, or Belmont County in Ohio.
