St. Clairsville, OH (February 8, 2013) – Belmont College is pleased
to announce that Mrs. Nancy Haynes, Director of Child Care Services, has earned
the Aim4Excellence National Director Credential. She is one of only two individuals
in Belmont County with this certification.
Aim4Excellence is a national director credential for early childhood administrators
provided through The McCormick Center for Early Childhood Leadership. The credential
focuses on the essential knowledge and skills needed to deliver high-quality programming
for young children.
Ms. Haynes has a Master of Science degree in Education with a specialization in
Early Childhood Education from Capella University, a Bachelor of Liberal Arts from
Wheeling Jesuit University, and an Associate of Science degree in Business Administration
from West Virginia Northern Community College.
As the Director of Child Care Services, she has the primary responsibility for administration
of the child development center. She provides leadership to implement a preschool
and school age education plan including development of a yearly curriculum, approval
of weekly lesson plans of staff members, and communication of curriculum goals to
parents.
The Cindy L. Jones Child Development Center at Belmont College is a unique child
care center which offers high quality care and preschool programs at the Main Campus
location for children of enrolled students and college employees.
The center is a secure facility that requires parent key cards for entry and classrooms
are under video security at all times. Creative Curriculum is used in addition to
the Ohio Department of Education Content Standards and developmentally appropriate
lesson plans are implemented for each area. The daily schedule and curriculum are
implemented according to Best Practices to meet children’s individual needs and
interests. The center has programs for toddlers (18-36 months), preschool (3-5 years)
and school age (5-12 years).
