Groundbreaking Held for Belmont College Health Sciences Center

St. Clairsville, OH (May 14, 2014) Belmont College officials
recently held a groundbreaking ceremony for the College’s new Health Sciences Center.
The new building will house all Belmont College Nursing and Health Science programs.
The Health Sciences Center will be located on the 54 acres of property that Belmont
College owns between Hammond Road and State Route 331 in St. Clairsville.
The 27,648 square foot building will feature a two story overlap design with state-of-the-art
classroom and science labs for biology, anatomy, and chemistry. These high-tech
classrooms will enhance the learning environment and provide opportunities for students
to nurture collaboration and creativity.
The new building, when fully equipped, will contain:
- Two Nursing Labs, each with a capacity of 18
- Two Nursing Simulation Labs, each with a capacity of 18
- Computer Lab that has a capacity of 24
- Two Anatomy & Physiology/Biology Labs, each with a capacity of 24
- Chemistry/Microbiology Lab with a capacity of 24
- SMART 360 classroom with a capacity of 24
- Three classrooms, each with a capacity of 48
- Faculty Offices
- Student Commons Area
"This building project represents a milestone in the development of the Belmont
College campus," said Dr. Joseph E. Bukowski, Belmont College President. "The impact
of having these new facilities will be felt, not only by those students, who will
receive their education here in the future, but also the healthcare sector, and
community as well."
The first classes will be held in the building in August of 2015.
