Belmont College Holds Summer Commencement Ceremony

Summer commencement ceremony held as students earn their degrees from Belmont College.

 

St. Clairsville, OH (July 29, 2016) –Officials at Belmont College conferred degrees upon a multitude of graduates as part of the college’s 2016 summer graduation ceremony, which was held on Friday, July 29 at the Main Campus location in St. Clairsville, Ohio.

Belmont College President, Dr. Paul Gasparro, delivered the keynote address to the graduates.

 

Board of Trustees Chair, Mrs. Elizabeth Gates welcomed graduates and Dr. Gasparro along with Dr. Rebecca J. Kurtz, Vice President of Academic Affairs and Student Learning, presented achievement recognition awards to the top students in the graduating class.

 

Speaking to the graduates Dr. Gasparro said, “This ceremony is just the beginning of your future. Graduating from college is a major life accomplishment, but don’t let it be the end of your learning. Allow each day to bring you new lessons and triumphs as you work towards a successful career and life. ”

 

He went on to say, “As graduates you have achieved something truly significant and important. Not only in your program of study, but also in your life. You will have the ability to create situations on a daily basis to leave those you serve with good memories that will bring them back to you, your services, your company, or just a better future. Always treat the people you deal with, with respect, professionalism, and kindness where appropriate, and your futures are assured.”

 

The Summer Class of 2016 valedictorian, Charles A. Husted, III of Bellaire, Ohio received an Associate of Science degree in Industrial Electronics Technology as well as a certificate in Process Control. Husted, who is a member of Phi Theta Kappa, earned a grade-point-average of 3.91 and graduated with honors. 

 

The class salutatorian, Eric Mark Nicholson of Barnesville, Ohio earned an Associate of Science degree in Criminal Justice. He achieved a grade-point-average of 3.81 and graduated with honors and as a member of Phi Theta Kappa. 

 

Immediately following commencement exercises, a pinning ceremony was held for graduating Practical and Associate Degree Nursing students.
