Belmont College to Host Mechanical Technical Center Open House as They Unveil HVAC-R Program Warranty 

St. Clairsville, OH (July 26, 2021) — Belmont College will be holding a Heating Ventilation, Air Conditioning and Refrigeration (HVAC-R) Program Open House on Tuesday, August 3rd from 5:00 – 6:30pm at their Mechanical Technical Center (MTC) located at 68633 Bannock Road, St. Clairsville, Ohio, near the College’s Main Campus 

 

The MTC is the new home to Belmont’s HVAC-R program The center has specialized classroom space for instruction in geothermal, smart-technologies, and traditional HVAC technologies.

 

At Belmont College, a 2-year Associates Degree or a 1-year certification option is available in the HVAC-R program. Students can choose specific tracks such as Residential, Commercial, Refrigeration, or Building Automation. Belmont’s HVAC-R program has 100% job placement, to date and internship opportunities are available.

 

Belmont College is pleased to announce that HVAC-R graduates, who enroll beginning Fall 2021, will have the option to receive a “warranty,” with their degree, which means their education has prepared them with the knowledge base, competencies, and skills necessary for employment in the HVAC-R field. If within 12 months of graduating from the HVAC-R program, a student has a deficiency in a specific area, they can be further instructed, in that specific area of competency, at no cost.

 

Thanks to grant money from RAPIDS (Regionally Aligned Priorities in Delivering Skills), Belmont recently purchased new HVAC-R and energy efficiency equipment for the purpose of training students. Some of the state-of-the-art equipment in our HVAC-R learning laboratories include Reznor Rooftop Packaged Units with advanced technology, rolling industrial lab tables, a Building Management Trainer used to teach building automation, as well as a mini split A/C area that has new residential and commercial Inverter Technology and a water source heat pump training area. 

 

During the Open House, the College admissions team, as well as HVAC-R faculty, will be available to talk with prospective students and their families regarding the program, career opportunities, admissions, financial aid, and scholarship opportunities.
