Belmont College Presidential Search Committee Announces Finalists

St. Clairsville, OH (July 8, 2014) – The Belmont College Presidential Search Committee is pleased to announce that they have selected four finalists in the search for the next College president to succeed Dr. Joseph E. Bukowski, who retired June 30, 2014.


The ten-member search committee is comprised of representatives from the Belmont College Board of Trustees, Belmont College Foundation Board, faculty, staff, and alumni.


The finalists are:

  • Paul Gasparro, Vice President for Student Success Initiatives, College Wide VP, Cuyahoga Community College District, Cleveland, Ohio;
  • Catherine Gatewood, Vice President of Academic Affairs, Bay College, Escanaba, Michigan;
  • Joseph Nairn, Executive Director of Advancement, Finger Lakes Community College, Canandaigua, New York; and
  • Clark Williams, President and Chief Executive Officer, Cowley County Community College, Arkansas City, Kansas.


The finalists and their spouses will visit the Belmont College campus to meet with trustees, faculty, staff, alumni, students and community members. After the campus visits are completed, the search committee will make their recommendation to the Board of Trustees who will then name the next president of Belmont College.


“We are excited about the next phase of growth and success that this leadership process will bring to Belmont College and the community,” said Elizabeth Gates, Chairperson of the Board of Trustees.
