Belmont College Showcases New Health Sciences Center

 

St. Clairsville, OH (August 17, 2015) – Belmont College is pleased to announce that their Health Sciences Center is now open and ready for fall semester classes. The new building is now home to all Belmont College Nursing and Health Science programs.

 

The college held a grand opening celebration on Saturday, August 15 to allow the public an opportunity to enjoy a tour of the facility, receive free giveaways and refreshments, as well as have an opportunity to speak with college faculty, students and administration. State and local officials were on-hand for a ribbon cutting ceremony which was provided by the St. Clarsville Chamber of Commerce.

 

“This fall, our students will have the opportunity to be the first class to walk through the doors of our new Health Sciences Center,” said Dr. Paul Gasparro, Belmont College President. “The opening of this state-of-the-art building makes a statement that Belmont College is committed to the Ohio Valley for the long term by providing both academic degrees and technical training to the local healthcare sector.”

 

The Health Sciences Center, located at 68410 Hammond Road in St. Clairsville, features a two story overlap design with state-of-the-art classroom and science labs for biology, anatomy, and chemistry. These high-tech classrooms are meant to enhance the learning environment and provide opportunities for students to nurture collaboration and creativity. The new facility is located near the Belmont College Main Campus overlooking Fox-Shannon Park.

 

The 27,648 square foot building features the following:

 

  • Two Nursing Labs
  • Two Nursing Simulation Labs
  • Computer Lab
  • Two Anatomy & Physiology/Biology Labs
  • Chemistry/Microbiology Lab
  • SMART 360 classroom
  • Three general purpose classrooms
  • Faculty offices
  • Student Common Areas

 

The first classes in the new building will be held with the start of the fall semester on August 24, 2015.
