Belmont College Holds Summer Commencement Ceremony


St. Clairsville, OH (July 31, 2015) – Officials at Belmont College conferred degrees upon a multitude of graduates as part of the college’s 2015 summer graduation ceremony, which was held on Friday, July 31 at the Main Campus location in St. Clairsville, Ohio.


Board of Trustees Chair, Mrs. Elizabeth Gates welcomed the graduates and Dr. Rebecca J. Kurtz, Vice President of Learning and Student Success, presented achievement recognition awards to the top students in the graduating class.


Belmont College President, Dr. Paul Gasparro, delivered the keynote address to the graduates.


Speaking to the graduates Dr. Gasparro said, “I want to offer my warmest congratulations to you, our graduates. You have worked long and hard to be here tonight, and this ceremony is just the beginning of your future. Graduating from college is a major life accomplishment, and we are pleased to be able to share this momentous occasion with you.”


He went on to say, “For you, today can be seen as a milestone that marks the end of a journey. Graduation is an achievement and is certainly worthy of celebration, but it is not by any means the end.  When you became students of Belmont College, we became committed to your success; not only your success in the classroom, but your success in your career, in your personal goals, and in life.”


The Summer Class of 2015 valedictorian, Kinuko Sabol, of Byesville, Ohio received a certificate in Medical Coding. She earned a grade-point-average of 4.0 and graduated with honors.  

The class salutatorian, Dulce Eldridge of Springfield, Ohio earned an Associate of Science degree in Library Paraprofessional.  Eldridge, who is a member of Phi Theta Kappa, achieved a grade-point-average of 3.93 and graduated with honors.
