Students Assist with Team Training for the Mental Health and Recovery Board
St. Clairsville, OH (January 24, 2018) – This past October, students in the Mental Health Program assisted in a Criminal Justice Crisis Intervention Team (CIT) Training for the Mental Health and Recovery Board serving Belmont, Harrison and Monroe Counties. A CIT Training is an effective law enforcement training and response program designed for first responders who handle crisis calls involving people with mental illness, intellectual disabilities, and alcohol and/or substance abuse disorders.
During the team training, the students participated through role-playing, in which the training participants practice the skills and tools learned from the previous two days of instruction. The following students took part: Jenn Cole; Jennifer Cunningham; Zach Heslop; and Melinda McEndree.
