Belmont College to Host CDL Truck Driving Academy Open House

Belmont College CDL program training students to help meet nationwide demand for truck drivers.

St. Clairsville, OH (October 22, 2021) — Belmont College will be hosting a Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) Truck Driving Academy Open House on Wednesday, October 27 from 4:00 – 6:00pm. The event will take place at the College’s CDL Training Lot, located on Hammond Connector Road behind the Health Sciences Center, just before reaching Belmont’s Main Campus.
The College Workforce team, as well as Belmont’s certified CDL instructors, will be available to talk with prospective students and their families regarding the application process, requirements, and job placement. Training facility and truck tours will also be provided.
The Truck Driving Academy program offers students a wide-ranging curriculum and training process to prepare them to pass the CDL exam. Daytime classes are available Monday through Friday. Training consists of classroom and behind-the-wheel training in St. Clairsville, Ohio from state-certified instructors, licensed by the Ohio Division of Public Safety.
“Our CDL program offers short-term training for a career pathway in transportation, which is a vital part of our economy locally and across the state,” said Melissa Rataiczak, Director of Workforce Development and Advancement. “Having the ability to train CDL students on-site in St. Clairsville, Ohio is a great opportunity for them to train behind-the-wheel locally. With registration for CDL classes now open, successful students will receive their CDL permit, classroom, and on-the-road training, CDL driving exam with truck provided, and job placement assistance.”
Representatives from Ohio Means Jobs will be in attendance to provide information on funding assistance.
